Meredith Cagle, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Undefeated, thanked Global Cash Card for their continued commitment and support, as they were also involved as sponsors last year.

Irrelevant Week is a celebration staged by The Foundation for the Undefeated, and it is now in its 40th year. The Foundation puts the spotlight on stories of perseverance in sports that help to motivate others to greatness.

During the annual “Irrelevant Week,” several events are held to give recognition to the last player taken in the NFL’s draft. That player is known as “Mr. Irrelevant,” and is the week’s guest of honor.

Irrelevant Week was intially created by NFL alumnus Paul Salata in 1976 to celebrate the underdog – the last player picked in the NFL draft. It evolved into the Foundation of the Undefeated, because of the desire to expand its influence, and reach more athletes and non-profits.

Throughout its history, Irrelevant Week has made contributions of more than $1 million to various charities including the American Cancer Society, NFL Alumni, Big Brothers Big Sisters, American Red Cross, Goodwill Industries, and Special Olympics.
