Arizona Cardinals – Last Draft Pick, 2015
The final pick in the NFL’s 2015 Annual Draft has been awarded to the Arizona Cardinals. The draft is set to be held in Chicago, Illinois from April 30 to May 2, 2015. Being the last pick in the NFL Draft is actually an honor, because that player earns the distinction of being celebrated for his perseverance and is an honored participant in one of the NFL’s greatest traditions.
Perseverance Week, a weeklong celebration of events that is held each year in the resort town of Newport Beach, California. The award was established to celebrate the unsung heroes in the game of football, and was founded by former NFL player Paul Salata. The event is sponsored by the Foundation for the Undefeated, and is now in its 40th year.
Salata says he is looking forward to “another successful week of bringing one of football’s most cherished heroes to see all of what Newport Beach has to offer.”
Perseverance Week 2015 is slated for July 7-12, 2015 in Newport Beach. This year they return to Balboa Bay Resort. An All-Star Banquet will be held there on July 10, at which other sports legends will be in attendance. On this special evening the coveted Lowsman Trophy, will be presented.
The festivities will continue during the week with a visit to Disneyland and Angel Stadium. The award winner will also be the specially invited guest at the Newport Beach Community Field Day on July 11, which is sponsored by Global Cash Card.
He will be unveiled on May 2, when the Arizona Cardinals make the 256th and last selection in the NFL Draft. This will be their second last pick; the first was Tevita Ofahengaue who was the final pick of the 2001 NFL Draft.
